The first incarnation of the now extensive franchise was Real Housewives of Orange County, and when a Beverly Hills spin-off was first suggested, executive producer Andy Cohen didn’t believe it would be different enough. 1. Kim Richards’ arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel

In April 2015 Kim was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel for acting belligerently and actually kicking a police officer. Kim has struggled with sobriety on and off the show so while the display was not entirely shocking it was still incredibly dramatic. She was later charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery, for which she got three years of probation, 30 days of community service and 52 weeks of A.A. sessions.
