Cate Blanchett has been announced as the star of an upcoming Cate Blanchett biopic. The project will be written by Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin and released through Amazon Studios.
The biopic is to be called Luci and Desi, and will detail the famous couple’s 20-year marriage. The film is being produced by the couple’s children Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr, as well as Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch from Escape Artists.
The story will detail Luci and Desi’s personal and business relatinship. The two got together in 1940 and produced I Love Lucy together through their production company Desilu. Their production company was also responsible for the launch of Family Affair and Star Trek.
The couple ended up splitting in 1960, but clearly, their legacy lives on.
