Janet Jackson reportedly called the police on Saturday night to do a welfare check on her son while he was with his father Wissam Al Mana. The one-year-old and his father were at the Nobu Hotel in Malibu at the time. Sources say that the police arrived around 10 PM and that Jackson arrived at the hotel around the same time. The police determined that everything was fine and the child was allowed to remain at the hotel with his dad. No arrests were made.

Apparently, a nanny that had been at the hotel with Al Mana at the time became concerned about his behavior and reached out to Jackson because of it. Jackson’s brother Randy said that the nanny was “terrified by his behavior and locked herself in a bathroom, so she could contact Janet.” The behavior was described as “aggressive.”

Jackson and Al Mana split last year, just a few months after their first child was born. The couple had been together for five years prior to their split. At the time a source spoke out about what was no longer working between the two.

“Janet and Wissam don’t see eye to eye on many things. One of the many divorcing factors was their religious beliefs. Wissam and Janet did not feel that they were on the same page when it came to this and the way they wanted their child to get raised. Janet is more of a free spirit than Wissam. Cultural difference and backgrounds played a major role.”

The two were very quiet about their relationship while they were in it. Jackson’s brother Randy also spoke out following her split from Al Masa and said that during the marriage Jackson suffered “verbal abuse” and felt like “a prisoner in her own home.” He alleged that Al Masa called Jackson names through her pregnancy.

Al Mana’s rep has not yet responded to the questions about the recent situation.
