Kendall Jenner took some heat after walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday, and it had to do with her fans. Many people pointed out that the star was suffering from a bout of acne and she felt the need to respond to the comments that came her way.

One fan praised her confidence saying “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand.” Kendall tweeted back “never let that sh-t stop you! ?✨.”

Kendall has been open about her skin struggles in the past, admitted that it affected her self-esteem and subsequently her dating life when she was growing up.

“Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it. It completely ruined my self-esteem. I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face. Sure, I had crushes in high school, but I wouldn’t even think about looking at guys. What I want everyone to understand is that it’s been a process: It wasn’t anything that happened overnight. But slowly, I’m working towards not caring, and I’m just in so much of a better place about it all now that I’m older.”

Kendall’s sister Khloe also tweeted her thoughts about Kendall’s look for the night, saying it was one of her favorites.

“I cannot f—ing handle it! The best she’s ever looked! And she looks epic always but this is craziness.”

For the event, Kendall chose to wear black in solidarity with the other women there. She wore a Giambattista Valli gown with Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Jenner shared that she was “honored and humbled” to be at the event in such a monumental year.
