Kesha has been doing everything that she can to be released from her recording contract with alleged abuser Dr. Luke, and she’s now saying that she was offered her freedom…with a very steep price. According to the singer, she was given the option to be released from her contract if she took back her rape claims.

On Sunday Kesha posted a photo of her face to Instagram that was captioned with the updated details about the situation, adding that she would “rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”

Dr. Luke has been denying the charges against him the entire time. In February he tweeted:

“I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.”

Kesha and Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) began working together in 2005, and Kesha did not go public with her claims of emotional and physical abuse until 2014.

Kesha has taken him to court for sexual assault and battery in an effort to be granted the freedom to record outside of the contract they have in place, but a judge denied the injunction.

Dr. Luke filed a countersuit saying that her allegations were “defamatory.”

A spokesperson for Dr. Luke has also said that the court “repeatedly stated Kesha was already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims.”

Many celebs in and out of the music industry have rallied behind Kesha and offered emotional as well as monetary support.
