Madonna has thrown some shade at Pepsi after they announced that they would be pulling their controversial Kendall Jenner campaign.

The singer posted a throwback photo of herself from the 1999 Grammy Awards where she was holding a can of Coke.

Kendall’s ad was pulled for being considered insensitive since it featured a protest and Kendall handing a Pepsi to a policeman.

Madonna did, however, have a Pepsi ad of her own at one point in time which also drew its fair share of controversy. The 1989 commercial was two minutes of her singing and dancing, but it was what happened next that was the issue.

The day after the commercial aired Madonna released her “Like a Prayer” video which was highly criticized by religious people and assumed to be a part of the Pepsi ad. Pepsi ended up pulling the ad after the Vatican and other major groups threatened to boycott them. In doing so, they also pulled the plug on her $5 million endorsement deal. Needless to say she doesn’t seem to have forgiven the incident.
