Ballerina Misty Copeland reportedly got married over the weekend to her longtime boyfriend Olu Evans. The wedding took place on Sunday at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, after about ten years of dating.

The ceremony was relatively intimate with about 100 people, and the ceremony was themed in white and pink.

Misty has spoken out about wedding planning in the past, saying:

“It’s interesting that I’m a ballerina, which is so girly and feminine and what every little girl dreams of. But it’s a character I’m playing, and that’s so much fun to be that. I guess, how people envision their wedding days, and that’s my life.”

Misty got engaged in 2015, just two months after becoming the first black female principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre ever. She has expressed that at times she felt like quitting her dancing career, but felt like she had a duty to see it out. At the time that she was accepted into the theatre company she said:

“I never ever dreamed of being a principal dancer, that’s just not something I ever envisioned as a black woman. It’s just really a humbling moment for me and for ballet.”
