Modern Family has officially been renewed for two more seasons by ABC. The season eight finale is scheduled to air May 18, which will also be the time which the actor’s contracts are up for renewal negotiations.

Some reports state that Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Ty Burrell will get an episode raise bringing their salary from $350,000 per episode to $500,000. Ed O’Neill has had a higher rate from the beginning, as was as a higher profit participation stake.

The younger stars, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons will also get raises but not as much as the people who play their parents.

The ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey released a statement about the renewal.

“Modern Family has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for 8 seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years. Steve and Chris have created such endearing characters, and the cast is second-to-none.”
