This morning, Netflix tweeted a teaser video for the upcoming sixth season of Orange Is the New Black, the streaming platform’s original dramedy series about the female inmates at Litchfield Penitentiary. The video indicates that the series is “headed to the Max” as ten women are taken into custody after a three-day standoff with the police following the wrongful death of Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley).

“Toward the end of season five, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together, and there were some people that were looking out for themselves,” commented Adrienne C. Moore, the actress who plays Cindy on OITNB. “We’ll see the repercussions of those decisions in this next season.”

At the end of season five, viewers saw Frieda (Dale Soules), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Cindy (Moore), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Red (Kate Mulgrew), Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon), Nicky (Natasha Lyonne), Gloria (Selenis Leyva) and Blanca (Laura Gomez) held up in a makeshift bunker in Litchfield’s unused pool area while the rest of the prison riots. In the final moments, riot police blew open the bunker and removed the ten inmates from the prison.

Originally, OITNB followed the 18-month sentence of Piper, meaning the series took place before President Donald Trump taking office. However, showrunner Jenji Kohan intends on playing with the show’s timeline to incorporate the current political climate into the plot.

“Do we just throw the timeline out the window?” Kohan shared. “Season five is season five, but for six, I don’t think anyone can help but incorporate some of the feelings associated with what’s going on and the divisions and all that stuff.”

The sixth season of Orange Is the New Black premieres on July 29 on Netflix.
