Actress Rachel Bloom says that she didn’t even bother trying to find a loaner dress for the Emmy’s due to her size. The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star ended up purchasing her own gown for the show, which differs from traditional customs of red carpet events.
She made it clear that she wasn’t turned down by Gucci, but that she isn’t a sample size so she bought her own dress.
“I love it. I can resell it. I said in an interview before it is hard to get places to lend to me because I am not a size zero, but also I can afford it, so it’s okay. We’re all playing dress up. This is the best dress up. I feel like a pretty pretty princess.”
The chosen gown was a black Gucci dress which had a ruffled lace top. The dress retails at Saks Fifth Avenue for $3,500.
