Rihanna’s latest venture into the world of fashion is a shoe line collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, which will feature all denim footwear.
The Spring 2016 collection will be called Denim Desserts and will offer six different shoe styles that were designed by both Rihanna and Blahnik together. The entire collection will be a limited edition.
Rihanna sounds thrilled about the launch. She has said:
“The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes… I am sorry for that woman because I’m going to literally run after her, shouting, ‘Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?’ I’m going to have a moment!”
Examples of items in the collection include a lace up stiletto boot that is a mid calf length, some delicate pumps, a denim heeled sandal, and a very high statement boot called the “9-5” of which she says:
“Those boots are dangerous! If you’re trying to get back home to your bed, don’t wear them boots! You will get kidnapped in those boots, those boots are trouble.”
Trouble in a good way, we assume. Blahnik as well seems very happy.
“This is an incredibly exciting collaboration and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Working with Rihanna has been amazing and her drive, passion, creativity and style has been reflected in the designs, with fabulous results – I think everyone is going to love what they are about to see.”
The collection will go on sale May 5 in only three locations: London, New York and Hong Kong.
