Will Ferrel got an honorary doctorate at USC on Friday and delivered a lighthearted speech to the other graduates.

He opened his speech saying that he was ready to deliver a baby on a plane and said that “hopefully it will be on United Airlines, from which I will be immediately subdued and dragged off the aircraft.”

He then went on to apologize “to all the parents who are sitting there saying, ‘Will Ferrell? Why Will Ferrell? I hate Will Ferrell.” But joked that he also heard some people saying that “he’s much better looking in person.”

After making plenty of jokes he spoke seriously to the graduates about the importance of pursuing one’s dreams.

“My fear of failure never approached my fear of what if. What if I’d never tried.”
