Beyonce is probably not one to mess with when it comes to business. The superstar turned athletic wear CEO is currently suing a company that made the poor choice of naming itself Feyonce Inc.

The Texas company creates items like mugs that have the Feyonce label on it, (a wordplay on fiance), but Beyonce is claiming that the name is too close to her own trademarked name and that it could create confusion for her fans and potentially damage her reputation.

Examples of things that they sell include t-shirts and one mug that reads “Feyonce: He put a ring on it,” which of course seems to piggyback off one of Beyonce’s biggest hits “Single Ladies” and it’s lyrics:

“Cause if you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
‘Cause if you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it”

The suit against the San Antonio based company claims “trademark infringement, unfair competition, trademark dilution, among a score of other statutory and common law violations.”

Her court documents also allege that she has asked them to stop selling their merchandise with the label and that they have ignored the requests, “brazenly” continuing to sell.

Beyonce of course owns all the rights to her likeness and song lyrics, and sells her own mugs, t-shirts and other merchandise.

Beyonce and her people have an issue with the fact that they have no control over what the company is selling, and in addition to shutting it down they are also seeking unspecified damages.
