While in previous trailers audiences saw the Guardians of the Galaxy joining forces with Thor, the final one for Avengers: Infinity War, released today, shows the intergalactic group visiting Earth to help Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, and the rest of the Avengers take on Thanos.

The juggernaut movie unites every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an 18-film franchise that began ten years ago with the release of the first ‘Iron Man.’ Many of the Earthbound superbeings have already crossed paths in previous movies, but this is the first time viewers see the Guardians of the Galaxy interact with Avengers such as Iron Man and Spider-Man.

More than anything, this final trailer emphasizes the important role the Guardians of the Galaxy play in the Avengers’ fight against Thanos. For instance, Gamora’s unique and personal insights into Thanos sheds some much-needed light on the unknown invader. Furthermore, Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, insists on spearheading the strategy to end Thanos’ campaign of terror.

“Let’s talk about this plan of yours,” says Star-Lord to Tony Stark in the trailer. “I think it’s good except it sucks. So let me do the plan and that way it might be really good.”

Luckily, MCU fans get to see the showdown between Thanos and everyone else in the universe a week earlier than originally scheduled, thanks to Robert Downey Jr. Recently, the Iron Man actor asked Marvel Studios if he and a few million friends could see Avengers: Infinity War prior to its early May release date. Of course, Marvel obliged, because you don’t turn down a simple request from Iron Man.

The third Avengers arrives in theaters on Friday, April 27.
