As part of the 20-year anniversary celebration of all that is Titanic, Kate Winslet has opened up about what she learned during the filming process. One thing that she was forced to do was think ahead since some of the more complex scenes requires days of filming.

In particular, the scene where Rose and Jack run through the flooded dining room took five days to shoot.

“You have to know that’s gonna be five days of shooting because it was five days of shooting. So it certainly helped me when I was reading this script. [You] just [have to] be very realistic about what was going to be required of us as actors.”

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio have worked together since Titanic in the film Revolutionary Road. Winslet has spoken out kindly about how wonderful DiCaprio is as a person and to work with. She has said that is a good friend and that is more talented and handsome than ever.

“He’s a solid, loyal person. He’s a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him. He still has friends he had when we made Titanic.”

Winslet also revealed that it actually could have been Matthew McConaughey playing the role of Jack. She actually auditioned with McConaughey when she read for the role.

Titanic is the second highest grossing of all time, and it only comes in second to Avatar, another one of James Cameron’s films. To celebrate the 20 year anniversary the movie will be re-released in a variety of theaters across the country in both 2-D and 3-D. It’s an opportunity for long-standing fans to see it on the big screen once again, as well as give the younger generation an opportunity to see it for the first time on that scale.
