4. Her Love Life Has Been a Little Volatile
While her career has been filled with highlights, Betty White’s romantic life has been a little volatile. She was married and divorced twice in the 1940s, and avoided romantic entanglements until 1963 when she married game show host Allen Ludden (whom she met on the set of Password). White reportedly turned him down at least twice before accepting his proposal. Ludden died of stomach cancer in 1981. In an interview with Larry King after his death, White explained that she’d never remarried because, “Once you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?”
