Today, the world was introduced to Caitlyn Jenner, with a “C” surprisingly. She was unveiled on the June cover of Vanity Fair, shot by world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. Formerly known as Bruce, Caitlyn says she is proud to share herself with the world, saying she’s finally “free.” Learn eight facts about Caitlyn Jenner, her transition and how the rest of the world is reacting to her courageous transformation.

1. Her Physical Transformation

Caitlyn underwent facial feminization surgery back in March and admits the process was physically and psychologically overwhelming. She has not yet had genital surgery, as not all transgender people elect to have it. However, she did have her Adam’s apple reduced and acquired breast implants.

2. How Her Family Reacted to Her Vanity Fair Cover

Kim was one of the first family members to vocalize her support on social media. The newly pregnant Kardashian said, “Caitlyn Jenner for Vanity Fair-Annie Leibovitz! How beautiful! Be happy, be proud, live life YOUR way!” Khloe wrote on Instagram, “We were given this life because you were strong enough to live it! I couldn’t be prouder!!! Caitlyn, You are beautiful!!!” Kendall took to Twitter writing, “be free now pretty bird.” While Kylie said, “My angel on earth!” Caitlyn must be so proud to have the support of her children.

3. Why She Spelt It with a “C”

4. Who Will She Date?

Caitlyn has previously mentioned that although she’s become a woman and has changed her gender identity, her sexual preference will not change. 6. Which Family Members Are Having the Toughest Time?

All of Bruce’s children and step-children have been supportive along the way, with some understanding and processing the transition better than others. However, Kourtney and Scott are most worried about how their young children will handle the transition. Penelope and Reign are too young to remember Caitlyn when she was a man, but Mason always referred to her as “Pop-Pop” and now Scott is not sure how he’ll feel seeing her as a grandmother.

7. Does She Regret Not Coming Out Earlier?

Caitlyn has said that she felt like a girl since the age of five, but lived a lie for the next 60 years. Now, she’s finally able to be herself. The Olympian said, “I was probably at the games because I was running away from a lot of things… very, very proud of that accomplishment, I don’t want to diminish it. The last few days and doing this shoot was about my life, and who I am as a person. This is about your life.” She said she did not want to be on her death bed knowing she was never true to herself. We’re very proud of her strength and we know that she is a strong role model to the LBGTQ community.
