The existence of alien life is a pretty hotly debated topic, even though scientists have suggested that other life somewhere out there is possible. The following celebrities believe in aliens with certainty, either based on their own opinions or because they claim to have seen evidence with their own eyes. Maybe after reading some of their explanations, you won’t think it’s too kooky to believe in ETs yourself.

1. Fran Drescher

Fran Drescher doesn’t just believe in aliens, she believes that she’s made contact with them. “Peter and I both saw aliens before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads. We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It’s the exact same scar on the exact same spot.”

2. Rihanna

It seems that superstar Rihanna inherited her interest in aliens from her father, who was convinced that it was just a matter of time before they started visiting the earth. He apparently wanted to be the first to know. “My dad used to make me sit outside on the steps all night long in Barbados looking for UFOs flying by. I had to do that for years.”

3. Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is known for his sometimes outlandish ways about how the universe works, and the Scientologist is so certain that alien life exists that he has reportedly considered building an $11 million bunker just in case those aliens decide to invade the earth. “Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe? Millions of stars, and we’re supposed to be the only living creatures? No, there are many things out there, we just don’t know.”

4. Megan Fox

Megan Fox has claimed to believe in everything from Big Foot to ghosts. She actually said that once a ghost poured phantom coffee in her hotel room in Mexico City. “I see everything through a spiritual lens. I believe in a lot of astrology. I believe in aliens.”

5. Katy Perry

Katy Perry takes a pretty pragmatic approach to the alien debate, hinting that the human ego might be a little inflated. “I believe in aliens. I look up into the stars and I imagine: How self-important are we to think that we are the only life-form?”

6. Jaden Smith

Jaden Smith seems to think that his belief in aliens has been confirmed by the president himself…since he neglected to say either way. “I like aliens! I think aliens are really cool, because they exist. I talked to President Obama about extraterrestrials. He said he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of aliens, which means they’re real. If people think we’re the only people that live in this universe, then something is wrong with them.”

7. Will Smith

Perhaps Jaden Smith initially got the idea from his dad Will, who is also a believer of sorts. “What I know for sure is I don’t know. Any assertion is just as absurd as the other. It’d be just as ridiculous to say that there aren’t aliens as it would to say that there are. I have a very open mind.”

8. Kacey Musgraves

Singer Kacey Musgraves believes that she has seen UFOs, which didn’t exactly warm her up to the concept of alien life. In fact, she’s totally afraid of them. “I have a very irrational fear of spiders. And alien abductions. Speaking of, I’ve seen several UFOs.”

9. Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves played an alien messenger in the 2008 film The Day the Earth Stood Still, and he considers himself a believer on the topic. “I think it’s more likely than not that there are advanced extra-terrestrial life forms in the cosmos. The cosmos is a pretty big place.”

10. William Shatner

William Shatner is also a believer in alien life. But let’s be honest, after spending that much time on Star Trek how could you not be. “I don’t think there is any doubt there is life in the universe, yes. I don’t think there is any question.”

11. Halle Berry

Halle Berry also goes with the human ego argument to suggest that we humans aren’t the center of the universe. “I don’t believe we are the only species in existence. My ego doesn’t tell me that we’re the only ones who survived, it might take us 20 years to get to those other life forms, but I think they are out there.”

12. Olivia Newton-John

Olivia Newton-John says that she actually saw a UFO years ago. “I have seen one when I was very young. It was unidentified and it was flying. It’s true that I’m intrigued by them. I have seen so many shifts in belief systems over the years. In England most people now think UFOs are possible. Twenty years ago, how many people would have thought that?”

13. Aaron Rodgers

Greenbay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is another celebrity who seems to have some personal experience with an extraterrestrial. “It was a large orange, left-to-right-moving object. Because of the overcast nature of the night and the snow, you couldn’t make out, it was behind the clouds we were seeing, but it was definitively large in the night sky, moving from left to right.”

14. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is a believer in aliens, and also in mermaids. The singer once told Seth Meyers that her theory is that they are one in the same, and that they are most likely in the Indian Ocean. That would be pretty tricky of them, living under us instead of above. “I know that they’re real…How self-centered would we be as humans to believe that we are the only living things in the universe?”

15. Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas says that he saw proof of alien life when he was a teenager. “This was probably eight years ago, I was in my backyard in LA. I looked up in the sky and there was three flying saucers. I looked at my friend and said, ‘Are you seeing this or am I losing my mind?’ He was seeing the same thing. We go online and there were three identical sightings two weeks before…It was me, my friend, and a bunch of people in LA that saw it.”

16. Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger supposedly spotted a cigar-shaped ship flying in the sky during a 1968 camping trip in Glastonbury, and then again the next year during a Rolling Stones concert. Some reports claim that he has installed some sort of UFO detector in his home to keep track of alien encounters.

17. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande sounds pretty resolute about the fact that alien life exists. “Of course. We’d be so stupid to believe we are the only people here.” She better hope she didn’t anger any of them with her “Break Free” video where she shoots a bunch down with her powerful chest missiles.

18. Tom DeLonge

Blink 182’s Tom DeLonge seems to think it’s just a matter of time until the alien thing is a normal part of life. “What’s funny, two decades ago when I got into this, it was such a ‘the world is flat’ scenario, and here’s Tom running around about UFOs and they’d just laugh it off. But now, NASA is holding symposiums on the inevitability of finding life in the universe. The Vatican is talking about, yes, there’s life out there, and how it interferes or doesn’t interfere with the church’s view of existence.”

19. Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian were among the many people in L.A. who spotted something flying through the night sky last year. Pentagon officials later called the event a pre-planned, unarmed missile test that was fired off by a U.S. Navy submarine. They both were convinced that it was a UFO at the time.
