It’s not easy pulling off attractive upper lipholstery, but these Hollywood heartthrobs have done it, some for decades. These are the most inspiring staches ever worn by celebrity men. Let us know in the comments section below, are you a fan of bristle batons or do you prefer your leading men whiskerless?

1. Burt Reynolds

Just call Burt Reynolds the “Mo Master,” because he is the godfather of all things facial fuzz. Here’s a young Burt in the 1977 action flick Smokey And The Bandit. That sly smile and perfectly manicured moustache melted hearts back in the day.

2. Nick Offerman

Ron Swanson could never be Ron Swanson without his signature ‘stache. If his lip rug didn’t showcase his manliness, the Parks and Recreation actor also enjoys woodworking in his spare time. Offerman’s a professional boat builder and furniture maker. He actually released an instructional DVD titled Fine Woodstrip Canoe Building with Nick Offerman.

3. Clive Owen

The over-sized caterpillar on Owen’s upper lip makes the English-born actor even more attractive than he naturally is when clean-shaven. But the Knick actor admits that he’s not really a fan of the mouth brow saying, “the minute filming wrapped — the second — I went upstairs and shaved it off.”

4. James Franco

James Franco is a man of great mystery. What is he? An actor, a professor, an artist, a humanitarian? His thin lip toupée only makes him a more enigmatic character. No wonder he’s known as Hollywood’s most elusive man.

5. John Travolta

Oh, the handlebar mustache, a motorbike classic. Travolta adopted the intimidating lip sweater, along with several fake tattoos, when he played a formidable mafia boss in remake of the 1970s classic, The Taking of Pelham 123. Honestly, we prefer the Danny Zuko look.

6. Jason Lee

Jason Lee could never have played “Earl” properly, without his signature crumb catcher. So, it’s surprising to hear that the production team was hesitant to give the character of Earl Hickney a mustache. “It was like a two to three-day battle with NBC over whether he could have facial hair,” said Greg Garcia, the creator and executive producer of My Name Is Earl, “I knew once I shaved him, I would lose. But Jason just said, ‘Trust me – I’m funnier with a mustache.'”

7. Brad Pitt

Pitt decided to keep the rakish moustache and long sideburns he grew for the film his wife directed, By The Sea. The 51-year-old actor will surely never be uncool, but here, Pitt reminds us of Ned Flanders from The Simpsons. Do you think the former “Sexiest Man Alive” rocks it?

8. Vince Vaughn

In 2003, funny man Vince Vaughn rocked this hilarious handlebar stache and the blame almost definitely lies with Vaughn’s role in Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson’s Starsky & Hutch remake. Paired with bushy sideburns and flared bell bottoms, Vaughn was the epitome of 70’s style. He claimed ladies loved the look.

9. George Clooney

Clooney opted for an interesting set of whiskers when he directed and starred in the 2014 German war film Monument Men. Clooney can pretty much pull off any style, and we have to admit this lip foliage doesn’t look terrible on the 54-year-old.

10. Tom Selleck

The 70-year-old actor, best known for his starring role as private investigator Thomas Magnum in Magnum, P.I., boasts one of the most notorious lady ticklers in Hollywood. Selleck’s been on TV since the late 60s. The former model got his start doing Pepsi commercials, before landing his breakout role in The Rockford Files. The only thing as old as Selleck’s acting career is his mustache, which has definitely become a part of his brand.
