Some stars have discovered that there’s nothing as fulfilling as being a mom or dad, so they’ve opted to take on those roles more than a couple times. Some have enlarged their clans the old fashioned way, others through adoption, and a few have amassed new additions through extramarital dalliances. While two kids is average, there are big families out there juggling five or more children. They need that celebrity salary just to afford their big brood! Beyond the extremes of the Duggars or Gosslins, here are some A-listers who have been particularly prolific when it comes to procreation.

1. Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson is the father of eight children, seven of whom he shares with his former wife, Robyn Moore. In 2009, he had his eighth child with former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, and now has three grandchildren in the family too. Gibson and his wife separated after 26 years of marriage, and when the divorce was finalized she received a settlement of 400 million, which is said to be the highest in Hollywood history.

2. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt have a total of six children, and they seem to be very hands-on with their parenting. Three of their children are adopted: they have a son from Cambodia, a daughter from Ethiopia, and a son from Vietnam. They also have three biological children, two daughters and a son. Word is the celebrity couple isn’t planning to add to their brood, but they certainly have the wherewithal to take care of more.

3. Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy has six children: five with his first wife Nicole Mitchell and a daughter with former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown. As one of the highest-grossing actors in Hollywood, Murphy has plenty of funds to handle a big family. He wasn’t always eager to embrace fatherhood, though, as his denial comments suggested when Melanie Brown first announced her pregnancy. However, he has since acknowledged that he is her child’s father, confirmed by blood tests, and is now getting to know her.

4. Taylor Hanson

Taylor Hanson has Mmm-bopped himself into a quite a large brood. The Tulsa-born musician has five children with wife Natalie Bryant, but at 34 years old there’s time to pop out a few more. No longer the teen rocker we remember, Hanson has transformed into a world-class musician fronting the band Tinted Windows. He’s still married to his first wife and is, by all accounts, a great dad. Finally, a teen star who is proving the clichés wrong!

5. Mick Jagger

What can you say about Mick and his diligence for bringing forth new life that isn’t tinged by his rock and roll lifestyle? True to his love ’em and leave ’em MO, Mick’s first child, daughter Karis, didn’t have the benefit of Dad’s money or presence while growing up. In fact, he tried to deny paternity until Karis’s mother won the day in court. Reportedly, father and daughter are now close, but Mick also has six other children – one with his first wife Bianca, four with Jerry Hall (their Bali marriage may or may not have been valid) and one with Brazilian girlfriend Luciana Gimenez. That makes seven – that we know about. Not only does he have five grandchildren, he now has a great-grandchild too!

6. Diana Ross

The Supreme Diana Ross has five children. She has been married twice and has had a few unusual boyfriends along the way; no one could dub Gene Simmons of Kiss the usual sort in any sort of context. She had a love child with Motown CEO Barry Gordy, but that daughter was raised by Robert Ellis Silberstein, her husband and father of two other daughters. She later had two sons with husband Arne Naess Jr., a mountaineer who was killed in a climbing accident near Cape Town, South Africa. Nowadays, Ross is racking up grandkids. She now has three, including Ashley Simpson’s baby, Jagger Snow.

7. Kris Jenner

Reality TV matriarch Kris Jenner is the mother of six children: four with her former husband Robert Kardashian and two with her former husband Caitlyn Jenner (nee Bruce). What can one say that isn’t already publicized ad nauseam about her extraordinary family? She once worked as a flight attendant. That’s it. You already know everything else!

8. Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg is a prolific filmmaker and baby-maker. The father of six is well-known for his blockbuster hits like Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. and Jaws. The celebrated director has a son with former wife Amy Irving, two children he adopted with current wife Kate Capshaw, and three biological children with her. The acclaimed director revels in being a good Jewish father.

9. Sean Combs

Sean Combs, aka P. Diddy, aka Puff Daddy, is the legal daddy of six kids. He had one with his high school girlfriend, and one he adopted with girlfriend Kimberly Porter (her son with another musician). He went on to have another son and twin daughters with her, too. A few months before the twins were born, he sired another daughter with another woman. So, basically he had a bunch of kids with a few different baby mamas. All his children are well taken care of and well-clothed, as one might expect from a musician-turned-clothing designer.

10. Chris O’Donnell

Chris O’Donnell has five children with his one and only wife – how refreshing in Hollywood! He hasn’t had a big screen hit since 1997’s Batman & Robin, but he’s had steady work on the small screen staring in NCIS: Los Angeles. Television work probably lends itself better to raising his large brood.
