7. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – $250 Million
The budget hike for the sixth Harry Potter film, which was equal to the combined budget of Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2, was reportedly due to some of the main casts’ contracts coming up for renegotiation. Radcliffe was paid $25 million for the film, while Watson and Grint both took home $10 million. The amount of CGI animation used throughout the movie, as well as the fact that the final inferi scenes took months to make, also attributed to the high cost.
