Justin Bieber is in the midst of his Purpose tour, and has now announced that he will no longer be doing meet and greets with the fans. Fans were paying up to $2,000 for tickets to meet the star post concert, but hopefuls are out of luck now.

Justin announced the news via Instagram and explained his reason as such:

“I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people’s spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression…The pressure of meeting people’s expectations of what I’m supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders.”

Love u guys.. I'm going to be canceling my meet and greets. I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression .. The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me.. And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen 😉

However some sources are claiming the move has less to do with his emotional energy and more to do with the physical boundaries that some over eager fans push. At Monday night’s show in Los Angeles a fan who is on Justin’s security “watch list” reportedly got with ten feet of him, which is a big no. Fans have also been known to pull Justin’s hair and even tear his clothing.

After Monday night his security team is supposedly going to be rethinking some of their security moves, so cancelling the meet and greets seems to support that plan.

Any fans currently holding a meet and greet pass will be refunded for their ticket, and fans will still have the option of doing group meets where Justine will chat with a group from the stage.
