Ryan Murphy Tweets Announcement about ‘American Horror Story’ Crossover

Yesterday, Ryan Murphy set Twitter ablaze with news about a crossover season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story.

American Horror Story: Murder House was the inaugural season for the show, and originally aired in the fall of 2011. The first season of AHS takes place in a gorgeous Los Angeles house with a dark past and starred Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O’Hare, Jessica Lange, and Sarah Paulson.

American Horror Story: Coven was the third season of wildly-popular horror series and it premiered in October 2013. Coven examined a school for witches based in New Orleans and the struggles of the teenage mystics living there as evil forces collaborated to destroy them. Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Taissa Farmiga, and Emma Roberts starred in the heavily-nominated season of AHS.

Two years ago, Murphy revealed that a potential crossover season of AHS would include characters from both Murder House and Coven. Both Paulson and Peters have confirmed that they will return for the eighth season of AHS. It will be interesting to see which of their characters they will portray in the crossover, since both had essential roles in Murder House and Coven.

A few weeks ago, Murphy said, “You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode 5.”

Over the years, American Horror Story has attracted a wide range of talent, from Lady Gaga to Chastity Bono. Both seasons of AHS covered many decades and attracted guest appearances from all over Hollywood. The eighth season is guaranteed to wow audiences with its complexity and cast.
