3. The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

If you’re in the mood for some upscale scares, why not watch Anthony Hopkins cement himself into screen history as Hannibal Lecter. Even though he only gets 17 minutes of screen time, Hopkins’ performance has been widely hailed as the most beloved onscreen villain of all time. Outside of Hopkins, the rest of this crime thriller rightfully won the Academy Award for Best Picture the year it came out.
