Drake Takes the Lead in BET Award Nominees

The nominees have been announced for the 2016 BET Awards, and Drake is leading the pack with nine nominations. He was even nominated twice in the Video of the Year category with both “Hotline Bling” and “Work” with Rihanna. He is also nominated twice for Best Collaboration and three times for the Viewer’s Choice Award.

After Drake’s lead, Rihanna and Beyonce tied for second in nominations with five each, and then Future and Bryson Tiller each earned four.

Adele got nominated for her first ever BET Award, in the category of Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. A category in which she will be going up against Andra Day, Beyoncé, K. Michelle, and Rihanna.

The Best Male R&B/Pop Artist nominees are Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Jeremih, The Weeknd, and Tyrese. The Best Male Hip Hop Artist category includes Drake, Fetty Wap, Future, J. Cole, Kanye West, and Kendrick Lamar.

In addition to the music categories, the BET Awards also honor Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Movie, Sportswoman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award, and a couple different international act awards.

The 2016 BET Awards will be held at 8 PM ET on Sunday, June 26 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
