‘Let It Go’ Songwriter Jokes that it Wasn’t Meant to ‘Terrorize Anyone’

Songwriter Robert Lopez has opened up about ‘s hit song “Let it Go,” joking that it wasn’t meant to “terroize anyone.”

“It was written to solve a problem in the story, and to be a big moment. It’s always that for us.”

He’s, of course, referring to the popularity of the song and how many parents were stuck playing it on repeat for their kids. Robert wrote the song alongside his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and in the film, it was sung by Idina Menzel.

Director Jennifer Lee has also spoken out about the song in the past.

“A year ago, I’d meet people who, when they found out who I was, they’d say, ‘Oh, we love the songs! We sing them all the time.’ Now they’re like, ‘Yep, we’re still listening to those songs.’ I’ve gone from, ‘Thank you,’ to ‘Sorry!'”
