Warner Bros is reportedly planning a huge Oscar campaign for Wonder Woman. They hope to make it the first time that a comic book themed film has been nominated for best picture. They also hope to pull in a nomination for Patty Jenkins as best director.

The film has successfully already broken other records, such as being the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman ever. The film has thus far brought in $781 million in global box sales.

No director of a comic-book film has ever been nominated for the best director spot, and men generally fill the category. A win or even a nomination for Patty Jenkins would be groundbreaking in a variety of ways.

Part of the studio’s plan to keep Wonder Woman on everyone’s radar is to reintroduce it in the fall months as well.
