On Thursday night Meat Loaf collapsed at a concert in Edmonton, Alberta and was taken to the hospital, but it is now being reported that he is “stable and in good condition.”

Meat Loaf essentially collapsed to the stage floor during the set, while he was singing “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).” People rushed out from backstage to help the singer and he was taken to a hospital nearby.

One concertgoer mentioned that although the full collapse happened at the end of the show, Meat Loaf had been struggling throughout.

“It was him forgetting words, he wasn’t on cue, but it was forgivable. We’re all loving it and going crazy, and then it just took a turn for the worst.”

Even before he was hospitalized Meat Loaf had already cancelled two upcoming shows due to health concerns, so it was clear that he knew something was going on. Meat Loaf has passed out on stage at least two times before, once in 2011 and once in 2003. He has blamed the incidents on asthma and having a history of concussions. He has also been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat problem known as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
